Kolkata Job Lab (kolkatajoblab.in) helps people find current jobs in and around Kolkata. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

• When you sign in with Google: your name, email address and profile picture. We do not see or store your Google password.
• When you sign up with email: your email address. Your password is stored securely by our login provider (Supabase) and we cannot read it.
• What you save in the app: saved jobs, job alerts, your resume skills if you add them, and the applications you track.
• Chat messages: if you message a recruiter about a job posted on this site, we keep the messages so both of you can read them. Your phone number and email are not shown to the other person. Admins read a chat only if one of you reports it.
• Profile (optional details): your name, and if you add them, a photo, a one-line headline, your area, a few lines about you and (for recruiters) your position. These are shown only to the people you chat with on this site, never publicly. Your email and phone number are never shown.
• Voice introduction (optional): if you record one, we keep the recording (up to 60 seconds). Only you can play it, and a recruiter only in a chat where you share it. No software listens to it or scores it. You can delete it at any time.
• Basic usage information: for example, when you last signed in, so we can count active users and keep the service working.

How we use it

• To sign you in and keep your saved jobs, alerts and applications in your account.
• To send the job alert emails you ask for. You can turn alerts off at any time.
• To email you when you have unread chat messages (the email does not contain the messages), and to remind recruiters who have not replied for 7 days.
• To count how many people use the app and improve it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone except the services that run the app (listed below).

Services we use

• Supabase - stores accounts and app data.
• Google - "Continue with Google" sign-in.
• Vercel and our hosting provider - run the website and server.

Job listings come from company career pages, official government recruitment pages and job sites such as Adzuna, Jooble, Careerjet and Jobicy. When you click Apply, you go to that website, and its own privacy policy applies there.

Advertising

We may show ads in the future. If we do, ad partners may use cookies to show ads, and we will update this page before that starts.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your account information while your account is active. Chats, your profile photo and your voice introduction are deleted together with your account. To delete your account and everything saved in it, email us from the address you signed in with, and we will delete it within 30 days.

Children

This service is meant for job seekers aged 18 and above.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
